Dekimo wins new contract for E&I installations in future offshore wind farms

December 2024

Dekimo Goes is excited to reveal that it has secured a new contract to engineer, assemble, test and maintain interface cabinets for the upcoming offshore wind farms in the Netherlands. This achievement follows our successful tender for maintaining Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) installations on offshore platforms, a project that aligns with our ongoing collaboration with Rijkswaterstaat (RWS).

The new project focuses on the realization of new E&I installations, specifically interface cabinets designed to gather and transmit data from various sensors. These cabinets, which will be installed on transformer platforms within the wind farms, will play a crucial role in acquiring data from five types of sensors; hydro-meteo, ecological, nautical, avionics and generic sensors. The collected data will then be transmitted to RWS’s data portal.

To execute this project, Dekimo has partnered with two subcontractors: Scholten Panelen will handle the assembly of the interface cabinets, while Tidalis will be responsible for their installation at the test site.

The project scope includes the construction and installation of an initial 36 interface cabinets across three platforms, with two options for expansion: an additional 36 cabinets on three more platforms and a further 24 cabinets on two more platforms, totaling up to a potential 96 cabinets. These platforms include the upcoming offshore wind farms such as IJmuiden Ver, Nederwiek and Doordewind. Each platform will be equipped with approximately 12 cabinets, which must be built to withstand the demanding offshore environment, including resistance to vibration and electromagnetic interference (EMC).

We are proud to continue our partnership with Rijkswaterstaat and to play a pivotal role in the future of offshore wind energy in the Netherlands.
