Lambda-X is specialized in creating and manufacturing optical systems. An optical system is the combination of an optical device with mechanical, electronical and software components. Lambda-X develops on demand custom optical systems where no commercial off-the-shelf solutions exists. Next to the design they make sure the products work by connecting an appropriate source and the required sub-systems to achieve the desired functions. Lambda-X is mainly active in market segments such as ophthalmology (eye treatment), medical, industry, security and aerospace.
The range of quality control equipment for the ophthalmic sector is built on several patented technologies of which the technical directors are the inventors. For a space project they were required to create optical equipment for a sounding rocket. The equipment needed to withstand a lot of different forces (speeds up to 6,500 km/h (or Mach 5,3), different atmospheres, temperatures,…). Lambda-X was able to implement a lot of these innovative technologies for the inspection of intraocular lenses and contact lenses. These innovations contributed to Lambda-X moving from outsider to the market leader for the inspection of intraocular and contact lenses.
After more than a decade of small improvements to both their hardware and software, it was time to revisit their product and software range. They planned to release a new version of the “NIMOevo” equipment and its associated software: CLE MENTOR. Their plan was to release a more compact version that offers increased functionality, performance and speed whilst improving the data security and to include the possibility of automating processes for the user.
Dekimo Experts helped Lambda-X by developing and maintaining a compilation server. This server helps Lambda-X automating recurring tasks such as deployment, testing and measuring the quality of the code to name a few. Lambda-X was finished their project in a faster and more efficient way than usual.
Next to finishing the renewed CLE MENTOR software Lambda-X improved the software development methodology and thereby further increased the product quality. This was achieved with the help of the Dekimo Experts.
